Both epoxy flake and polished concrete give you a tough, seamless, low-maintenance floor — but they look and behave quite differently. Here’s how to decide.
Looks
Polished concrete has a refined, architectural look — a smooth, reflective surface that shows the natural character of the slab, from a subtle cream finish to fully exposed aggregate. Epoxy flake has a decorative, speckled finish with thousands of colour chips, and you can blend the colours to match any space. If you want “designer minimal”, lean concrete; if you want colour and a hard-wearing decorative look, lean flake.
Durability and grip
Both are extremely durable. Flake floors have a slight texture that gives natural slip resistance — great for garages, wet areas and outdoors. Polished concrete is smoother, so for outdoor or wet zones we’ll usually add a grip treatment.
Cost
